Evelyn Haralampu is a Member of Burns & Levinson Asset Management’s Investment Policy Committee, and oversees Burns & Levinson LLP employee benefits/ERISA/executive compensation practice. Ms. Haralampu has extensive experience advising both businesses and non-profit entities on the design and taxation of employee benefits, executive compensation, equity-based compensation programs and health plans. She also designs employment agreements, and advises on various tax and employment law matters. Ms. Haralampu represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service and U.S. Department of Labor, and counsels on ERISA controversies in the courts. Ms. Haralampu's expertise includes the areas of healthcare privacy and other health law issues.

Ms. Haralampu contributes to the continued professional education of Massachusetts lawyers in a number of capacities. She has chaired the Boston Bar Association ERISA/Employee Benefits Committee, and co-chaired the Tax Steering Committee of the Boston Bar Association. Ms. Haralampu has been a contributing member of the Committee on Government Submissions of the American Bar Association and, in that capacity, has assisted the ABA in recommending policy changes in the federal tax law. She speaks and writes extensively on various ERISA, HIPAA, employee benefits and tax matters, both to professional and lay audiences. She is a contributing author of the MCLE treatise, Massachusetts Employment Law.

Ms. Haralampu sits on the Board of Directors for the New England Pension Assistance Project of the Gerontology Institute at University of Massachusetts Boston and is active in assisting that organization in its pro bono work. She is also a member of the board of the New England Conservatory, and has served on various committees for the Town of Belmont.
